Christmas is Christ for the masses. This season is the most celebrated festive period all over the world but beyond the festivity, jamboree and the euphoria it brings, we need to understand the very meaning and reason for the celebration.
Because of His love for the world and the need to draw men to Himself once again, God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to the world to be born of a woman in the most noble way-in a manger! His conception is miraculous and unexplainable. This shows the greatness of God.
God gave Himself to man by sending His Son to be born as man and of man. That’s why He is called Emmanuel, meaning “God with us.” Also in John 1:1and14,
“…and the Word was God,…and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…”
So the purpose of Christmas is celebrating Jesus, God’s Gift and love to humanity.
As much as this gift is given to all, it is still not enjoyed by All because not All believe and embrace it. But no one is left out. You can also partake in this love. Yes. All you need do is to welcome Him, Jesus, into your life and acknowledge His Lordship over you. You do this by simply believing and confessing Him as Lord. (Romans 10:9-10)
This is the best gift you could ever have! The best decision you could ever make!
And if you’ve known Him already, instead of wasting time just wining and dining this Christmas, share this Gift with others around you. Make others know the Reason for the season. Jesus is the reason!
